The Axial SCX10 III Base Camp is a 1/10-scale Ready-to-Run rock crawler built for serious trail driving. It features a steel C-channel chassis, high-clearance portal axles, and rugged crawler electronics — making it ideal for beginners and seasoned drivers alike.
Performance
Equipped with a 35T “Slickrock” brushed motor and a 40A waterproof Spektrum ESC, the Base Camp delivers smooth, controllable power for slow crawling or moderate-speed trails. The LCXU single-speed transmission combines durability with low center-of-gravity stability for rock crawling.
Design & Features
The model comes with a pre-painted body and realistic scale accessories including a snorkel, rock sliders, side mirrors and a functional storage box. Licensed Falken Wildpeak tires on Black Rhino Primm wheels improve traction and scale appearance, while DeMello metal bumpers boost both looks and toughness.
Build Quality
Built on a steel C-channel chassis for rigidity and strength, this crawler supports tuned oil-filled shocks and full ball-bearing drivetrain components. The AR45 portal axles raise ground clearance, helping it navigate over rocks, roots, and rough terrain with ease.
Control & Handling
Includes a Spektrum SLT3 3-channel 2.4 GHz transmitter and SR515 receiver. Steering and throttle are fully proportional, giving you smooth control over your crawler’s speed and direction. The 3-channel setup also supports future upgrades like a winch or dig unit.
Ease of Use & Maintenance
Delivered factory assembled, the Base Camp just needs a compatible 2S or 3S LiPo battery to be ready to drive. Maintenance involves routine cleaning of chassis and drivetrain, checking screw torque, and replacing worn parts. Its modular design makes upgrades simple when you’re ready.
Special Notes
This package does not include the LiPo battery or charger — you’ll need a 2S or 3S LiPo with EC3 or IC3 connector and a compatible charger to complete the setup.
